Now the motors are here and the brackets cut, it is time to assemble the bare boards to see what the mouse will look like.Primus is intentionally simple and consequently a bit chunky. Two large and two small boards are needed. These are conveniently cut from pieces of perforated prototyping board. ideally this will be fibreglass for strength and rigidity but the cheaper SRBP type will work too. The top board is double sided. Although more expensive, it is really conveninet to be able to mount some of the connectors friom the underside of the board. Nothe that the two small boards have the same size and shape but are drilled in different places. Here is a picture of the assembled prototype:
